The 3-4 Brossart Mustangs JVs knocked off the 5-0 Scott Eagle JVs 49-45 tonight in a weather delayed JV game.

 

The varsity game was cancelled when several players, coaches, and the game officials were unable to make it to Alexandria due to road closures.

 

The Brossart-Scott Varsity game will be made up on Wednesday, February 9th in the SyDome.

 

Eric Pouncy led up to his hype, leading the Scott Eagles with 20 points in the JV game, but the Mustangs, led by Jared Hahn with 13 and Tanner Norton with 10 were able to overcome the precocious sophomore in leading the Mustangs to their fourth victory of the season, while the Eagle JVs fall to 5-1.

 

The Mustangs led every step of the way, but the Eagles closed to 13-12 in the first half and then 423-39 late in the game, before the Mustangs hit their free-throws (9 of 11) in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

The Eagles closed to 42-39 late in the game. Brossart didn't actually have a 384 point lead. :irked:
