The Spencer Co roster has Chris Dunbar listed as #25...he was the one with 26 pts, according to book I saw after the game.

Spencer County is a good team. They killed Holmes inside. They simply turned the ball over too many times and Holmes' penetration was a problem for them.

I thought Hayes looked solid. Rice looked good. I really liked Wyatt's game for SC.

I have seen the Dunbar boys play several times and Logan is 33 and he had 26 points and Chris Dunbar had 12 points but they are a pretty good team and I agree to many turn overs and Holmes speed just killed them. It was nice to see a team like Holmes so fast and athletic play and they really looked under controll.

If Walter starts typing jibberish on here it's probably because he's still got the SC fan's voice in his ear yelling "he carried the ball" as the guy was pretty close to Walter. He would NOT shut up about that.

My thoughts exactly. Dunbar was in the right place at the right time all night long and at the beginning of the game, it looked like Wyatt was going to shoot Holmes right out of that zone. I felt like once Holmes put Gray and Hayes on him, he became a non factor.

Rice was skying over defenders all night long at both ends of the floor. He finished with 8 offensive rebounds (majority of those being tip ins off missed shots) and 6 defensive rebounds.

You saw that, huh?

The guy with the UK gear on was ridiculously loud and obnoxious in the first half. The two goons behind me were flat out idiots. Anytime a Holmes player crossed over, they wanted a carry called.

I couldn't help but to shake my head and laugh.

Yea I heard the fans yelling but I just moved because I couldnt take much of that so in the first half I found a new spot. It was a good game and the score really did not reflect it but hats off to Holmes but I will give props to SC

Good point on the score not reflecting how close it was. It was a 2 point game with 2 minutes left in the half and suddenly it became a 9 point game. It then got back to 4 in the 3rd but Holmes made yet another run.

That is what makes Holmes a good team they held them off and was able to win the game. Look forward to tomorrow's games.

Good point on the score not reflecting how close it was. It was a 2 point game with 2 minutes left in the half and suddenly it became a 9 point game. It then got back to 4 in the 3rd but Holmes made yet another run.

Midway through the second quarter it was tied 26-26. Holmes built a 6 point lead at 32-26. Spencer scored 4 straight after this to make it a 32-30 game. Holmes then got a few steals, Hayes knocked down a big 3, and Peterson scored just as time expired to make it a 41-32 halftime score. Holmes closed the first half out on a 15-6 run.

Third quarter Spencer Co scored the first 5 points to make it 41-37 but Holmes scored quickly at the other end to make it 43-37. Spencer scored at the other end to, again, pull within 4 but that'd be the closest they get the rest of the game. With the score 43-39, Holmes scored the next two possesions to push the lead back out to 6 at 49-43. Both teams traded baskets to make it 51-47, but Holmes closed the quarter out by outscoring Spencer 6-3 to take a 57-50 lead in to the final period.

Fourth quarter, plain and simple, was all Holmes. Spencer Co made 1 of 2 free throws to start the 4th to make it 57-51, but Holmes would go on a 10-3 run to push the lead to 13 at 67-54. Spencer answered with a bucket to make it 67-56 but Holmes scored the next 5 to make it 72-56. Spencer was able to cut it it 12 at 72-60 but Dogs closed the game out on a 9-4 run to give you the final of 81-62.

A very typical game for Holmes. They didn't shoot well at times, but their spurts and constant pressure (when they turn it on) just wears teams down. My biggest concern is their poor free throw shooting. If they don't straighten it out, it will get them in a close one. Overall another good effort against a spunky club.

If you get a good team to handle the half court pressure and slow it down Holmes could be in trouble. That is where Spencer Coutny got in trouble trying to run with them and playing what looked like a 1-3-1 Zone. You get no offensive rebounding with a 1-3-1 you have to do a 2-3 Zone in order to slow down guard penetration and block out big time.
