Final from Owenton. Owen County opens up 31st District play with a convincing win over Carroll County. Carroll County had a hard time generating any offense outside of Hannah Devine. Gayhart controlled the game for the home team. Owen travels to Gallatin on Monday for another 31st District seed game.

I heard that Gayhart got her 1,000 th point in this game. Is this correct? If so, Congrats.

Yes, that is correct. I actually forgot to mention that.

Congrats to Riannna Gayheart for 1000th point.

Gayheart and Devine are two very nice players for their respective teams, and this is just another example of how evenly they compare with each other over the course of their high school careers. This was a nice win for the Lady Rebs and a notch in their belt as the district picture becomes more clear. Coaches Mefford and Osborne will continue to work and shape their teams well as the season unfolds, and who knows what the outcome might be the next time they square off.
