I agree. Holmes is barely a top 10 N. KY team. Not a real threat to win 4A.

Wthrow is a D1 Cincy school that likely would beat a lot of other teams around nky to the same tune. Don't let this game fool you...Holmes is a legit 4A contender.

 

Outside of Boyle and Bell, I'd like Holmes chances against any other team in 4A.

Have to agree with you Walter. I have a good friend who coaches at Withrow. He told me before the season began that they'd struggle mightily at the beginning of the season, but as the new starters gained experience, they'd really improve because of the talent on the team. He's looking pretty prophetic right now.

 

Holmes will be just fine when their starters return. Smart decision by Lickert to hold them out and get them healthy for the playoffs. Knowing Steve, I'm sure he wants to win every game, but the key to continue his rebuilding project is to make it deeper and deeper into the playoffs. There will be a time when beating Withrow or another Cincy schools becomes very important, but Holmes isn't there yet.
