Warren Central 24 Grayson County 6

Featured Replies

Final from Warren Central.

Needed it, had to have it. Huge win by Central, guaranteeing a home playoff game and setting up a district final next week against Bowling Green.

Grayson county really only had two drives on the night. The first was following an INT they returned to the WC 40. They picked up a first down, got a pass interference penalty on third and long, and eventually cashed in for a 2 yard TD with under 1 minute left in the half, to put them up 6-3. They also took the first drive of the second half from their own 17 to the WC 35 before turning it over on downs. The rest of the night, they didn't do much offensively.

For Central's part they didn't do much in the first half on the offensive side of the ball, cashing in for a field goal in the first quarter following a short punt after a bad snap that set them up on the Grayson 30. But in the second half they scored 3 TDs on some nice drives, the first for 65 yards, and forced Grayson County into 5 turnovers (maybe 6, can't recall). I didn't anticipate an 18 point victory, but I'll certainly take it. Defense was STRONG tonight.

DragonFire- I honestly believe with Central's defense the game against the Purples will be a classic. I would have thought the final against Greenwood would have been but they have fallen apart. I see the Dragons making a lot of noise in the playoffs this year.
