Good job Lincoln, I wish Lincoln would use #5 more. They only had two pass to him all night, one was not catchable the other pass to him went for 25 or 30 yards, If the ball had been better throne ball it would have been a TD. They could also use him in the backfield, With the one two punch.(#7 and #5) Or have #5 or #7 coming out of the backfield for a pass.

I think if the coaching staff can get it together Lincoln will be fine....

 

Lincoln does have a back coming out of the backfield to throw to...#32 ....he made an awesome catch and run Friday night for a TD. The move to put Otto at QB was the best move in a long time for Lincoln. And a new starting center helped the line this week too..he replaced the #54 starting center. Those moves show me the staff has it together......and Lincoln will be fine.

What situation is Mercer in...they have a ton of talent. I saw it myself this summer. They have some good looking kids. They could use some time in the weightroom but that's not the kids fault.

#32 is the fullback and a great kid, but #7 and #5 have better hands and more speed so why not use them more for that? but I will say #32 has a heart like no other and will bring the wood to you ever time, I'm not trying to taking anything away from him at all he is a great team player. And that play worked great but we don't use it like we should, I think we only used it one time last Friday. And the QB thing why did it take that long to make that change?? Not taking anything away from #5 he did a good job at QB, He also is a great team player. As a mater of fact I spoke with Austin's (#5) dad and he said that "he would play anywhere, what ever the coach asked him to do, he don't care, he just wonts to do what's best for the team". He also said "Austin was OK with the switch he loves running and catching the ball and making big plays". If #4 ,#5, #7 and #32 could get help from the line like they did last week, Lincoln will score points, if not it don't mater who's in the backfield or at QB.

And I think #54 will be back at center next week. Those moves were because of some sickness. I also do think if #54 is not getting the job done next Friday he will be out.

Congrats to LC on a good win. Coach Settles will do a good job just give him some time.

 

Commander you are dead on! Coach Settles will do a good job at Lincoln. The fans there understand and are patient with him. They understand that it will take him some time to get his program in place. While the wins may not show it their kids look alot better and alot stronger he has his system in place and the wins will follow.

 

The weightroom is what I was referring to, my understanding was they only have about 5 kids in their program that can bench press 200 lbs (If true that is sad). It is imperative that the Mercer kids get stronger they just look so much smaller than everyone they play and it shows in their blocking and their tackling.

The weight room is available to the kids. At some point it's the kids fault for not using their weight room in their complex. The door is always open to the kids.

 

 

I heard Coach Mason and a player's mother got into it Friday and then he suspended that player yesterday from practice and the game this week. Seems like things are getting worse before they get better. I really question the heart of the players. Between the parents and the attitude I am seeing and hearing about from the kids Mason seems to be in a no win situation.

Wait? He suspended a player for a parents action? And they have heart, They just DO NOT respect the man enough to want to play for him if that isn't obvious yet, and thanks BLATS for bringing up another point "ADJUSTMENTS" where were they for Mercer? Out Coached yet again becuase even without Johnson and burris, these were two pretty evenly matched teams, other then a few Lincoln linemen that you could say wasn't entirely muscle lol I'm sure I'll be blasted for"armchair Qb" or "Let The Coaches Coach", hmm well they've been coaching and still no results and if you think that there were any adjustments made Friday night please point them out! And I don't mean how they put guay and 32 at rb, I'm talking play calling, formations, defensive adjustments.... I just don't see it, folks, if 22 doesn't intercept a fake punt for a td then it is 30-0, after the first quarter we can not do anything becuase no adjustments are made, look at the previous games and look at the points scored post first quarter or at least a couple minutes into the 2nd quarter, it's just obvious to me he ISN'T doing his job, and bash me if you want bacuase I really do not care. haha

Rule 13

I actually thought the new defense they used against Lincoln helped them stop the run a little better. I also noticed that when Guay was at QB and Ellis was in the game they were pretty much moving the ball at will. Then Ellis went out for the game in the 2nd quarter and they struggled to move the ball after that. All Lincoln had to do was take the fullback away and they knew Mercer didn't have any weapons to hurt them.

 

The bottom line is their lines are getting dominated and until that is fixed things won't get much better.
