Good effort by Russell with Davidson and Bailey out. Mason County had a ton of holding penalties, though, that helped bog their offense down.

I was getting updates via text. 99yd drive sounded impressive and frankly had my hopes up. Congrats to the Royals on the win.

I was glad to see Mason County work through the penalties and find a way to win. A mark of good teams - instead of crying about penalties, lace 'em up and keep playing. Players and coaches handled it better than some of we fans.:clap:

 

Defense rose to the occasion again tonight; they have been playing well. Here's hoping that all those Russell players are okay, they were dropping like flies toward the end of the game.

 

Key plays of the game:

 

- Recovering the on-sides kick to start the second half.

- Maybe the biggest play of all was Pawsat going back 15 yards to get a low snap on a punt and getting off a kick that hugged the sidelines and ended up at the Russell 25.

- QB sneak on 4th and 1 deep in Russell territory, led to the TD that put the game away.

Forgot one. Gilbert's catch of the Pawsat pass an inch or so off the ground and getting a first down to keep the late scoring drive alive.
