Ram's Game Of The Week

Featured Replies

If you are a football lover, get in the car and plot a course for Bell County. That is the location of The Game Of The Week, where Johnson Central will be traveling to play Bell County.

5A #4 Johnson Central (3-1)

Johnson Central has one loss this season at the hands of the only team ranked higher then Bell County in 4A - Boyle County. 4A #1 Boyle County (3-0) beat Johnson Central early in week one 36-29. After that Johnson Central has rattled off three straight wins over: 6A Cooper(1-2) 43-19, 4A #7 Knox Central (3-1) 29-28 (OT), and 3A #7 Sheldon Clark (1-3) 14-12. Johnson Central is the only blemish on Knox Centrals record.

Johnson Central has not posted any 2010 stats and shame on Coach Matney for that, his players deserve the recognition. But, Johnson Central does have a devastating threesome in the backfield that last year rushed for 4,000 yards and 45 touchdowns - J.J. Jude, Tanner Bratton, and QB J.K. Hall. They are still raking up the numbers and are a force to be reckoned with.

4A #2 Bell County (3-0)

Bell County is still undefeated and don't expect them to give up this week. Bell County does not have a signature win yet this season, posting wins over all unranked teams: 2A Green County (2-2) 61-12, 6A Madison Central (1-3) 55-8, and 5A Whitley County (1-2) 49-6. In their defense, Whitley County was briefly ranked in 5A but has since fallen out of the top 10.

Bell County has rushed for 272 yards this year behind Corry Davenport (20 attempts for 394 yards and 7 TD's) and Ryan Collett (14 attempts for 217 yards and 3 TD's). While only allowing 126 rushing yards on defense behind John Dudley Hilton (19 solo and 10 assists). Bell County's passing attack has come at the hands of Ben Madon (19 for 23 for 342 yards and 6 TD's). Davenport has led the way not only as a rusher, but has a receiver as well hauling in 8 receptions for 146 yards and another 4 TD's.

Bell has scored a total of 165 points in three games while only allowing 26 points to their opponents. There defense has been stopping both the run and the pass allowing 126 yards rushing and only 44 passing yards.

Johnson Central is ahead of the game in strength of schedule, but no one should over look Bell County's defense.

Ram's prediction:

Bell County 21 Johnson Central 14

I think I posted on this game earlier this week saying. If this game was played on a saturday I would go. This should be a great hard hitting game with lots of talent on both sides of the ball. Good luck to both!

Looking at the thread with the poll, very few disagree with you.

I disagree, Ram. They are expecting 10,000 in attendance at Tanks Memorial Stadium in Ironton, OH to watch Ashland Paul Blazer and Ironton play. This is more than likely Coach Lutz' last year of coaching and how ironic that he is 28-5 against APB and he lost the first 2 games in the rivalry and could go out with a 2 game losing streak. If I weren't on the sidelines for Raceland, I'd be in Ironton.

RAM,

Great write-up, but I did see one mistake. Bell Co. actually has 2 Davenports. One is a JR. running back and the other is a Sr. WR. Both players are having great seasons.

Really? I must have missed that. I just though Cory was working overtime. Thanks for the correction.
