Hold on. There's a huge difference between questioning/discrediting the surge vs the personal attacks by some upon the General. I don't remember Sen. Obama condemning the General personally. There's a huge difference.

Obama was discrediting the Bush admin along with the surge, which is Petreaus's plan. Obama wasn't far from his community organizing days and was a "present voting" Senator, something tells me the General didn't swallow/forget it very easily. I took it as Obama using a "tone" with Petreaus because he couldn't use it with the President.

If the General got his feelings hurt or took it personally (which I don't think he did) then he's in the wrong position. If you will go back and read his comments the day that the General sat in front of Sen. Obama you will see that he was fully criticizing the Bush administration. If you will go back and read his comments the day that the General sat in front of Sen. Obama you will see that he was fully criticizing the Bush administration. To lump his comments about the surge in with the personal "Betrayus" attacks is disingenuous. Maybe so Clyde, I won't argue that. I lumped it because the surge was a Patreaus plan, not a Bush plan.
