What does Monroe County need to do to improve in

2010?

What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

Monroe will be very good on offense with 8 returning starters. Defense has only 2 starters returning but have experience on that side of the ball with a very strong Senior class ready to step up and play. Look for Monroe, Glasgow, and Green to be the teams to beat in district and region.

Any predictions as of how far they will go in the postseason?

Feel Monroe has a chance to make state final. The road will be very tough because Green and Glasgow will be tough in the district and region and if you make it to final four Murray and Fort Campbell will be very tough. Don't think Fort Campbell will be as good as they have been because losing Andrews will be very hard to overcome. They lost one game in last two years and he didn't play in that one.

Ok Pigskin fans, here we go again....First mandatory practice was this evening. I have good news for all who is interested in the Fighting Falcons of Monroe....we are 73 strong on the roster with a super strong senior class that is ready for some pad time!!!! Not until the 30th can we see how hungry the Falcons are to hit... if you have played us in the past you are well aware of how extremely physical Monroe plays on both sides of the ball. Our obvious weekness people think is the defense, which lost some players that can not be replaced this year. We have no "1" stand out player this year like the last years, but instead bring at least 5 that will go on to play at the next level easy. Monroe is returning the entire backfield on offense with all attending the high school combine in Ohio this summer. We are returning all but one on the secondary on defense with the hard hitting London, which single handed destroyed Adair Co's season last year taking out the QB and the RB for the season. If Monroe plays to their abilty this season you should definately look for another deep run this year as well....could this be their year to go to the big game? Time will tell......

I watched a little bit of practice tonight and if the defense hits as hard as they were killing each other our opponents had better bring some tylenol!!!! I thought they were going to have to tone the linebackers back a notch with the crashes that could have left someone feeling a little bit woosey....:isurrender:!!!!! Opening night is very soon and the buzz is in the air here in Falcon Country....God Bless the Football Players!!!

After watching last night’s meet the team event and scrimmage a few observations,

Offense will be explosive, scoring won't be a problem.

Defense will take some lumps early in the season, how they respond will be the key to the Falcons success this season.

Expectations are high, Coach Petett has set the bar high for these seniors and they seem primed to achieve those goals.

Fan support continues to grow, there are often more Roe fans at practice than some teams have at games.

The field looks better than I've ever seen it, that's important because if things go as planned there will be a lot of games played at Darrell Carter Stadium.

Great to hear the season and every game will be dedicated to #84 Ethan Strode, Ethan has and will continue to contribute to the team even in his passing, his motto of "Get Big" is this year’s team motto...

I have to agree with the Scribe and the outlook for 2a. Monroe's sucess will fall on the big shoulders of the 22 strong senior class. The sophmore class is stacked with some super talent also with the transfer of Jacob Hodges from FCA in TN. His father is a Falcon Alumni. Expect to see more underclassmen stepping up to fill some important rest time for this team. I may be speaking to soon but a deep run will almost be demanded, not expected!!!! The Falcons are 70+ strong, thus quality by numbers is obvious. I have been a close witness to a huge growth in the program and the level of play expected by these young men. The coaching staff are not the ones who have raised the bar for the Falcons, but the players are working year round to make this program that will live on. Only one program comes to mind like this, Danville. Look to see great things this year as well, our district is stacked full of strong 2a teams capable of winning a region title for their school. When you have a 4 team district rival look for great games come the end of regular play!!!! I hope to see some BGPer's this year and we down here in Falcon country welcome all to our house and our famous Bar-b-que...
