Great year for our Lady Cards at GRC. They win both the 10th region in Basketball and Softball.:dancingpa

Congrats to the round man of softball ole Jackie and the girls. They beat two good teams Brossart and Harrison. Ole Jockey Jackie was tough on the ponies this week beating up on the Mustangs and the Fillies.

Prep Softball: Lady Cards savor 10th Region title

“This is unbelievable,” Clark senior Morgan Woosley said. This is our third time (in the last five years) and it’s just an unbelievable feeling. It just shows that our hard work and dedication paid off.”

 

Woosley finished with three hits — one of which was a single off the fence in left field — and drove in six runs. The single by Woosley plated Clark’s first run in the first frame, but a two-run home run by the Clark senior in the third inning stretched a 4-1 lead into a 7-1 advantage and set the tone for the remainder of the contest. Kayla Jones connected on a double that plated two runs, while teammate Shamy Williams belted three hits, including a double in the fourth inning. Caitlin Collins added a pair of singles for Clark, which finished with nine hits in the contest.

 

Clark pitcher Amy Haggard tossed a one-hitter and finished with seven strickouts. Haggard retired 10 batters in a row after Emalee Little reached on an error in the third inning.

 

Michelle Carson had Harrison County’s only hit of the game when she connected on a sole home run with two outs in the fifth inning.

Congrats to Jackie and the lady cards. They will represent the 10th region well. I was told that the first round game with Brossart would be the championship game. The winner of that game would win it all. By the scores of the semi's and finals I beleive that was tthe case. GET R DONE DOWN STATE

My sentimentalities exactly. Maybelle, peaches, junior and I are heading down to watch the Cards if the Impala gets new tires. I hear Jackie knows all the good extensive dining holes down there. Dawg you are invited to join the family on the trip. We can talk about real 10th Region Softball not the 9th Minors. Gotta run. Maybelle is making a new dish tonight, she learned it from Granny on the Beverly Hillbillies. Thats our favorite show. Maybe one day my Lady Royals will be down state.
