Holy Cross 17 Cooper 1

Featured Replies

Hard to believe this game was played with all of the rain, but Cooper's field looked great. The outfield was a little soggy but not too bad.

Cooper started Freshman Adam Carella and he retired HC 1,2,3 in the first on 3 ground outs. Cooper scores 1 in the bottom on a lead off walk, stolen base, and 2 ground outs.

The 2nd, it fell apart. HC scores 9. Two of first three walk, then hits, errors and more walks. The last 5 runs score after and error would have ended the innings (ball goes off pitchers glove covering first on hit wide of base). Carella pitched much better than results (walks did kill him though).

The 3rd, HC scores their other 8. At least 6 walks this inning and 6 or 7 runs score after an error would have ended this inning (pop up and mis-communication).

HC threw a lefty that kept the ball low and his defense was great. The 35th will be interesting. Roenker (SP?) threw the last inning, I assume just to get work in, and he threw well only giving up one hit to Thompson.

Cooper is improving, but the next step for the Jags will be consistency.

I think this year will find them out of region action, but they will be there in the next few years. Baby steps.

Nice win for Holy Cross.

Great win for HC! Looks like thier peaking at the right time and merging to the top of the region rankings!!!!!
