Nice win for the Birds on the road. Jack Stewart led Highlands with 14, Corey Dill and Garrett Smith Keller had 8. Colt Barnhill led all scorers w/ 23.

Final.

Highlands goes on the road and gets a victory over Colt Barnhill and East Carter.

From the looks of the boxscore it looks like Stephen Kowolonek, Zac Lother and George Grote may not have played. Egan/Crowley/Bruns all underclassment played and combined for 10 points.

Big game out of 6'6 Junior Jack Stewart has he led the Birds with 14.

I believe Grote has joined Grubbs on the list of "finished for the season"; a real shame for him and the Birds. Impressive win against a 17-4 team, on the road w/out all those players ( I believe Watson is still out as well.) Nice win for HHS, their underclassman, and the remaining seniors.

Really hate to hear that George is out for the season. Not only is he an outstanding ball player, but an even better kid off the court.

Highlands has definetly seen high expectations crumble before them because of the injury bug.

Kudos to the underclassmen though for stepping up against a good team and getting the W.

That is correct Lother, Kowolonek and Watson did not play and Grote is done for the season. :isurrender: Thats the bad news.

Gordon, Dill, Smith-Keller, Stewart and Crowley started for the Birds

The good news: Highlands still has a ticket to the 36th District dance even though they'll enter the district tournament a huge underdog. But let me tell you... if you keep kicking that wounded dog he's gonna get up and bite someone.:scared:

Just want to say, as one of the 14 Highlands fans in attendance, how proud I am of our kids. Seniors Gordon, Dill and Smith Keller really stepped up, as did Jr Stewart (another strong game in the post) as did Jr. Connor Crowley, who had a break out game in his first varsity start. Crowley and Smith Keller both hit huge threes in the last minute of the game. Steal by Dill also in the last minute and all round good play by Gordon sealed the win. Also hats off the East Carter fans on their hospitality. Nice venue to watch a game.
