UHA advances to Richmond for the umteenth time by winning perhaps the weakest Second Region tournament in All-A history.

Only five times has the 2nd region winner NOT been UHA. Trigg went in 1997, Crittenden in 2000, and Lyon won three times in 2001, 03, and 09.

When West Hopkins and South Hopkins consolidated into Hopkins Central in 1996, and Trigg and Webster got too big for the All-A in recent years, UHA pretty much makes their reservations for Richmond in August.

It seems like Caldwell County should make better runs at this title, but their program has really slipped over the last several years. Fort Campbell seems to be getting closer, but Heights is still head-and-shoulders above everyone.

Ah, the Rebels and Tomcats. It's been awhile since I'd thought about those two. Hard to believe Hopkins Central has been opener that long.

South Hopkins had some teams that could have beaten a home-grown UHA team in the early 90s.

West Hopkins quit participating in the All-A Region around the same time because UHA wasn't home grown.

UHA is a little more home grown now, yes? What is the student population at Heights? I remember the All "A" program listing them with something like 51 students at a mid-90s tournament!

Well, the foreign exchange rule change limiting them to one year pretty much made them become a little more home grown.

They have around 120 in the upper four and around 90 in the top three.

Is UHA simply "private" or is there some type of religious affiliation?

They are a private school.

It was expected that they would take an enrollment hit with the opening a few years back of a Christian private school across town. However, it doesn't appear they have.

Heritage Christian competes in the KCAC and isn't likely to petition the KHSAA for entry anytime soon.

I really thought Lyon had a shot this year. But it was at UHA, and since they played each other in the first round, it was over as soon as that game was over.

I thought UHA was a "Naismith United International Hoops" church school?? :D:D
