I have now seen Holmes, Christian County and Scott County and there is no doubt in my mind, that Scott County would beat them all. Far too many weapons on the Cardinals Bench to get beat by Holmes short bench and far to discipline to get beat by Christian County.

 

CovCath got taught a lesson last night, hopefully they learn from it!

Same was said last year about Scott Co before they played Holmes and I'm sure you remember the outcome of that. Let's not forget this is also the same Scott Co team that lost to Lexington Christian.

 

Nice win by the Cards though. Sounds like they really took it to the Colonels and Euton/Jackson shut Thelen/Wellbrock down. If Covcath doesn't get good play from their bigs, they aren't a very good team...plain and simple. Guards aren't strong enough to carry them when Thelen and Wellbrock have off nights.

SC is a top 5 team in the state by far. Yet, until all of the teams play one another its hard to say who is better. It's hard to say who is better if they do match up on a friday night because there are some many things that go into KY High School basketball.

Colonels seem like they shoot better from the field then they do the charity stripe. 4-11. Wow...that will come back to haunt them in a tournament game.

This proved one thing.

At the KHSAA semi-final soccer match between CovCath and St. X at Georgetown College we got to talking to some of the kids (Scott County students) who were directing traffic to park! They felt it was totally unfair to their fellow students who had worked hard to become Cardinals starters/ players to have all the transfers come in. Most of the kids, while they liked to win were upset by all the transfers themselves.

Not to be crass but those kids need to face facts. The coach plays the best kids in the school regardless of how long they've been there or how they got there. I can certainly understand that a life-long resident would be upset but, again, life is not always as you think it will be.
