Shelby County 32 Anderson County 30

Featured Replies

Bearcats slowed the game down and led much of the way. AC had the chance to tie in the final seconds.

Halftime score was AC 14 SC 12(!) Donovan Johnson scoreless for Shelby in the first half.

TO THOSE WHO TRIED TO LISTEN TO THIS GAME ON THE PEGASUS SPORTS NETWORK: We apologize; technical issues with the Shelby County phone system resulted in a delay in getting on-line. Our Anderson County broadcast crew ultimately did get on-line with about 3 minutes to play in the first half. We apologize to anyone who was looking for the game at http://www.pegasussportsky.com and missed it.

Looks like it was a coaches battle.

I think Drury won the "coaches' battle" by keeping the scoring low....but ultimately, it didn't matter, as Clark had more thoroughbreds.

Kind of like the UK - U of L game...Pitino may have won the coaching war, but Calipari just had too many studs...

Why was the SC/AC game a coachs battle. Anderson ALWAYS plays Shelby this style. Shelby hit FT'S and they win double digits. You will see the same game in District Finals.

Both teams yet to play Spencer. Is there a chance of Spencer beating either of these teams?

Double digits? It was a two point game...

I wasn't at the game, but I think BigCountry is right...only because I know it's ALWAYS a coaches' battle between those two schools. Glenn Drury's a legitimate coaching legend, and we may be saying the same thing about Mike Clark in another 10 years... Two top-notch guys and two solid coaches. It's one of the reasons it's such a great 8th region rivalry.

As for Spencer...Spencer has dramatically improved as their youth has matured. It's tough for them, playing in the 30th. They may be the best team on the sidelines when the region tourney starts - or maybe not. In terms of matchups, I think Shelby is problematic for Spencer. But I think Spencer could give Anderson some fits, particularly now that Humphries is apparently gone at AC.
