Great place to host the 13th region tournament.

Very nice Arena.

 

An Arena that nice deserves real basketball games with real results. The only thing I didn't like was that it was scrimmages. That place should be used for tournaments only. I hate to think that Warren Central came all the way to Corbin to play in a scrimmage with a running clock.

 

Will the Cumberland Falls Tourney be played there?

 

 

Great place that deserved a more intense atmosphere.

I disagree 100%. I thought it was a good idea prior to watching the games yesterday. Too big and crowd is way too far from the floor.

 

$3.75 is way too much for a pop at a high school scrimmage.

What was the purpose of the arena???

 

Are they trying to get a semi-pro team?

Are they trying to host the Mid-South Tourney?

Is Corbin going to play their home games there?

Is Cumberland or Union going to play games there?

I attended the Kelsey Sorrell Memorial Basketball Tournament Saturday and paid $5.00 and it was more than worth it to possibly see eighteen teams play nine scrimmage games! For my five dollars I saw four good scrimmage games, so I honestly felt I got more than my money worth.

 

Of course my $5.00 went to a scholarship fund and my daughter knew and graduated with Kelsey but still for $5.00, it was more than worth it!

Now that was expensive!

How did the teams look?

 

Corbin beat Wayne Co. by around 10 points, teams looked relatively even when the main players were in the game, although Johnson and Wilson from Corbin played a notch above everyone else in my opinion.

 

South Laurel lost to Scott Co. by 15 or so. Scott Co. comes at you in waves and have a lot of players who can really play. The Euton kid from Scott Co. looked very good and caused South Laurel a lot of problems. South Laurel has pretty good depth and when they figure out their rotation will also be very good. The Sanders kid from South looked very poised and actually handled Scott's pressure better than the more experienced guards for South Laurel, it will be hard to keep him off the floor this year in my opinion.
