November 11, 200916 yr Sorry, my knowledge of what you are talking about is very minimal. I will have to research it and get back to you with an informed opinion. Although i get the feeling you are referring to War Crimes, which i would consider differently. Would the killing of unarmed innocents not be considered a war crime? If this was in fact an "act of war" like you stated, would it not be considered a "war crime" since this persons "enemy" was unarmed?
November 11, 200916 yr That question is completely irrelevent to this discussion.Sez who? I was just asking you a question. If you choose not to answer it, that's o.k.

November 11, 200916 yr I said it was completely irrelevent to this discussion, so I guess "says me".Look, if you don't want to answer the question, that's ok. I am pretty easy to get along with. Congrats on your newly self appointed Moderator status.
November 11, 200916 yr I don't believe an act of terrorism has to kill anyone to be deemed so, therefore, it's not just a euphamism for murder. It's any act that is designed to harm/kill, and send a message of fear. The Matthew Shepard qualifies, as well as the examples listed above. :thumb:
November 11, 200916 yr I think it's best for him to leave that decision up to the responsible agency. Why would he say differently than the FBI?Oh, you mean like when he went against what the Cambridge police said and claimed they acted 'stupidly'? :sssh:
November 11, 200916 yr Why?Why not? If he started yelling Jesus Christ is King and started shooting up the place, how would it differ?
November 11, 200916 yr FarBeyondDriven, I've never claimed to be a moderator and I've never told you what to do. You can ask the question as much as you want, I'm just trying to stay on topic. If you want to create another thread to discuss your other question I'd be more than happy to participate in that. However this thread is for the question "What is a Terroristic Act?" and things related to terrorism, IMO. "Do you think enemy combatants out in the field should recieve those rights?" has nothing to do with terrorism at all.
November 11, 200916 yr Do we agree that the "nut" in the abortion clinic bombing did the bombing out of a religious belief? If so, how is that any different than Hasan? It's not IMO.
November 11, 200916 yr Oh, you mean like when he went against what the Cambridge police said and claimed they acted 'stupidly'? :sssh: I'm not familiair with this, so I'm sorry but I don't really have an answer for you.
November 11, 200916 yr I'm not familiair with this, so I'm sorry but I don't really have an answer for you. It's what prompted the whole "beer summit" thing, the arrest of Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr.

Considering we are at War with Manmade Disast....i mean Terrorism/radical islam, it has everything to do with terrorism. Radical islam is about terrorism, period. Sorry if seem to be picking on you, i'm not. And i am entirely to lazy to start a new thread. I am more of a drive by poster.

Sorry if seem to be picking on you, i'm not. And i am entirely to lazy to start a new thread. I am more of a drive by poster. Fact of the matter is your question was irrellevent. I don't feel picked on because someone is responding to my posts. I do think the moderator statement was unnecessary. Not sure where you were going with the first sentence in this post. Are you insinuating that I'm not aware of the war on terrorism? It's possible that some believers of Islam will eventually snap as well and go on a rampage. We don't consider every murder in this country terrorism for a reason. The authorities are doing their jobs and like I said before, I think they know what they are doing. Do I think this was a terroristic act? I don't really know. If it will make you stop harassing me about the silly question, I will try to answer it quickly. I think any enemy combatants that become prisoners of war should be treated according to the rules outlined in the Geneva convention. I believe that is what the United States Military follows regarding POW's. I could be wrong about that though.

My concern is with folks in this country who want to treat enemy combatants as equal to U.S. citizens with same rights, etc... It would be an absolute nightmare to have things like that drug out through our legal system. I was just curious as to where you stood. As far as the Moderator comment, i just happen to sometimes assume that everyone has the sense of humor that i do. I sometimes forget that not everyone on this board knows and loves me like the infamous Jim Schue. I will stop now before the horse dies a second death:deadhorse: BTW, thanks for the response.
