Top 10 teams in Central Ky

Featured Replies

Who are the top 10 teams in central Ky?

In no particular order:

Clark Co.

Scott Co.

West Jessamine

LexCath

Tates Creek

Lex. Christian

Franklin Co.

Anderson Co.

Henry Clay

Bryan Station

Lincoln Co.

Lincoln County is not a top 10 team in Central KY, IMO, yet. I think you have them there based on past history, which is fine, but I think Danville and Mercer County and quite possibly Boyle County will be better than Lincoln County this year. Lincoln County got younger this year and it may be a year or 2 before they are mentioned in the top 10 in Central KY.

Just my thoughts.......

If you had to put them an order of 1,2,3........?

Scott

Clark

West Jess.

Not sure of WJ just putting them there because they went to the final four last year and I am pretty sure they return a lot of that team.

1. Scott Co

2. GRC

3. Lexington Catholic

4. Tates Creek

5-10 These teams could be debatable in which order.

I agree with another poster and wouldn't put Lincoln in the top 10. Would you consider Shelby Co in Central KY? If so I would add them.

On West Jessamine, not sure how to rank them with the new coach...will just have to wait and see.

Thats true with West. I know Anderson is in the Top 10 and Shelby is not, but I think alot of people do not put Shelby in the Central Ky area. As werid as it is. I would put them in the top 10 in this as well.

I think after Danville our district is wide open. Granted, I don't know a lot about Lincoln, but what are they bringing back to convince me that Boyle County doesn't have a chance to be better than Lincoln? Won't they be starting a brand new sophomore point guard? Didn't they lose 2 or 3 of their best players from last year's team?

I'm not so sure about Danville, either.....however, I do think the district is wide open. It will be interesting to see who's on top at the end of the season.

I did hear from a supposed reliable source that several of Boyle's "veterans" had decided not to play basketball this year for whatever reasons. And didn't Boyle lose a few players to graduation also?

Yes, Lincoln will be starting a sophomore point guard, who is the little brother of our senior pg from last season. But we did very well in summer ball with him AND our freshman point guard. I think a lot of people will be surprised by LC this season and how good they will be come March! :thumb:

I can assure you Boyle hasn't lost any veterans. We lost some incoming juniors to the wrestling team and various reasons, but other than Aumiller, Austin, Southerland and Glasscock, everyone else is returning. We haven't lost anyone who was a significant member of last year's varsity team. As of today, we are assuming Rees MacShara is playing, but Jacob Bodner is likely to be the starting point guard, especially at the beginning of the year. Boyle's season this year is an unknown, but I can guarantee, we will be better than what we were last year. Like Lincoln, we looked very good in summer ball as well. Like Lincoln, I think people will be surprised by how much we have improved.

I am very familiar with Trent Edginton. I have been watching him play against Boyle since the 6th grade.

I put Danville in the top 10 of the Central KY teams and #1 in our district because they return pretty much there whole team, minus Kruz Warner and their center. They lost the least and they likely have the best player in the district in Jacody Taylor coming back. Jacody also quit football during the football season so he began playing basketball right away. Duran Elmore returns along with Burgess and Dunn. Danville has to be a favorite and they should be even better this year. I would think anyways.

I am definitely looking forward to the upcoming season, Purple Pride! I think the district is really wide open, and I can't wait to see how things play out. Of course, I am hoping that Lincoln comes out as champ!

My sons tell me that we have some scrimmages next month with Tates Creek and Bryan Station, among others....so I am anxious to see how we fare against those really good teams!

This will be a good test to see if how good Lincoln Co. will be this year. Tates Creek is really good and Bryan Station always is athletic.

Two very good teams to scrimmage against.
