Who are the standouts for the Highlands JV team this year? I know Towles was before he got promoted to varsity? Who else has had a good year for the JV 'Birds?

The JV team is loaded with talent, they make the Birds' starters better players too. This might be more fun to discuss after the season.:thumb:

Didn't these two play earlier in the season also, and the score wasn't so close.

First time they played, Highlands 62 / Beechwood 7. Beechwood started allowing some of their better sophomores play JV the last few games and a few good players obviously make a big difference, as today's score shows in more ways than one. Beechwood was leading and looked to be headed to a possible victory today with their sophomores playing until their QB was injured. Since the other JV QB was already injured, Beechwood had to play the second half with a WR at QB who hadn't taken a snap in a couple of years. Beechwood will probably cancel their last JV game with Dixie due to no QB's, just like they had to cancel the CCH JV game a few weeks earlier due to all QB's being injured.

Here, let me help you out. These are the top JV players for HHS IMO:

 

#6 Austin Sheehan - another one of those fast receivers that HHS likes to just loft the ball up to and say go get it.

 

#23 Jake True - Strong, hard running back with good speed.

 

#25 Corey Compton - Also a good running back with good size.

 

#81 Chris Carson - Very fast receiver/DB; impressive at the DB position.

 

#66 Sam Chambers - Good looking LB who covers the field making tackles.

One more thing since we are talking about top players, #42 Cameron Vocke for Beechwood is an incredible back. He makes cuts and squeezes out of tackles that just make you shake your head and ask how did he do that. Then when he gets in the open field he is extremely fast.

I watched him score against Ludlow friday night. Wasn't an overly impressive play but his balance after getting hit is. I think if he stays healthy throughout his career and gets stronger he may get some good looks. Thanks for the info voice.

Vocke is the real deal at Beechwood and will be a college prospect for sure.
