South Laurel 7th grade won the Adair Co. tournament with a very close win over Southern in the championship game. Southern had the lead with 3 minutes to go in the game, but S. Laurel was able to pull it out in the end. South improves to 9-0 and Southern goes to 3-1. S. Laurel also beat Clinton Co. and Taylor Co. Southern beat Adair Co. and Casey Co.

Great early season game between two highly regarded 7th grade teams, Southern Pulaski and South Laurel, at Adair Co. tournament today. South Laurel pulled away at the end to win, but excellent players on both of these teams. The big boy for South Laurel was a horse down low.

The big kid from S. Laurel is Allen and he had 21 in the game vs Southern. Zach Baxter also had 25 for South. Tyler Dishman lead Southern with 17 and Adam Isaacs had 14. This was a great early season game between two of the better teams in the state. :thumb:

Johnson County starts there season tomorrow vs. Martin County, then play Betsy Layne on Thursday night. Our schedule includes Hazard, Fleming(home and away), Mason, Virgie, Betsy Layne tourney(Should be one of the better tourneys of the year) 15th region tourney on Dec 5 through 11 at the East Ky. Expo Center(seats over 7,000, think we can fill it up for the place) and the Capital City Classic in Frankfort right after Christmas.

Fleming County will be in Frankfort December 29-30 at Elkhorn Middle School for a tournament. We played there last year and I believe they called it the Toyota Classic (if I remember correcctly).

 

Is that the same tournament, Mr. Slate? Do you know who all will be there? Last year, it was the Frankfort City and Franklin County schools plus Shelby West and Anderson County and maybe some more.

Hopkinsville Middle School's 7th and 8th grade teams are both undefeated so far this season. Last Thursday night, the 7th grade defeated North Drive Middle by a score of 58-29. JaQualis Matlock had 26 points and 14 rebounds. In the 8th grade game, HMS won by a score of 85-27. Tre Edwards had 21 points and 5 assists, and Matlock had 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Johnson County starts off the season with a 76-29 win over Martin County. Shane Hall with a two hand slam in the game. Big game out of all 10 players.

Southern (Southwestern Pulaski) had a big night in beating lincoln Co. 7th by 22 and beating the 8th by 16 (60-44). Southern's 7th improves to 4-1 and the 8th goes to 5-0.
