Media coverage

How's the media coverage in your neck of the woods...???

I look at the radio / webcasts thread, and I see a lot of teams represented. But I wonder - Who's not covered? Is it because there's no radio station in town or another reason?

What schools are being painfully ignored by the local paper???

Just curious.

Here in Pulaski County we have three FM radio stations that cover all three high School football teams ( Pulaski -SouthWestern and Somerset)including pregame coaches shows. All of Pulaski county's games can also be viewed on WAZOO Sports. The local paper also covers all threee schools with previews of each game on Friday and the game line stories on Sunday. So I would say we have great coverage.

Seems like the Central Kentucky Sports Network is getting to some teams around central Ky that don't get much coverage. Doesn't seem like East and West Jessamine get much coverage aside from when CKSN is there. I know Hometown Radio Network does a good job getting Boyle, Mercer, Garrard and Lincoln areas. Gary Ball usually gets 1 of the Lexington games each week. I think WAZOO has the Catholic/Christian game this week and CKSN is doing the Henry Clay/Lafayette game.

Raceland can not get coverage. We have a great fan base, and many good sponsors. But, a limited number of radio stations in the area and they cover other schools. We have been trying to begin a webcast, but have been having trouble getting the proper bandwidth.

The Raceland community would support it if we could get a station.

Frankfort has FM radio for one of the 3 local teams every Friday. The State-Journal does a cover story on something interesting about one of the local teams every Thursday as well as blurbs for the local games the next day. If it is a inner-city game they typically write a huge cover story on it. Cable 10, local cable provider, does a fantastic play-by-play broadcast, which is shown numerous times throughout the next week.
