High School Credit Hours for Playing Football???

Featured Replies

They are required to take PE, so if they play why not give them Phys Ed credits for this. This would also allow them to take other electives in place of Phys Ed and could be a good thing.

I know that at several colleges, you are required to have 2 semesters of PE. You can get one of them if you participate a full season in a varsity sport at many of these schools which makes sense.

I agree with you MountainThunder. Keeping kids involved in something helps keep them out of trouble and graduate high school.

I'll have to think about this one. I don't like it at first read but if it keeps marginal kids in school I can see the benefit. 15% of their total credit hours just seems a lot to me.

Doesn't band and chorus get credit for the classes they take? Aren't they just practice's for their performances basically.
