Suggestions for Week #1 Louisville/Metro Area Pick 'Em Contest

BGP'ers now is your chance to get involved and help us (The Staff of BGP) pick the games for the Louisville/Metro Area Regional Pick 'Em Contest in week #1.

 

Only those games that are played on Friday, August 21st or Saturday, August 22nd will be considered.

All suggestions will be taken seriously and the more input by you, the fans, will give us more of a chance to make this an extremely competitive contest each and every week.

Highlands @ DuPont Manual (Game of the Week for the state)

Ballard @ PRP (Two strong 6A programs)

Male @ Elizabethtown (Etown had a strong record last season, we should see how they handle playing up)

Seneca @ Central (would have been a big time game with Smith, now it will be a measureing point for Seneca without him)

Louisville Holy Cross vs Franklin County (I would think this will be competetive)

Washington County @ Shawnee (Shawnee won 6 games last season and I don't know if anyone noticed)

Dunbar @ Bullitt East (I'm interested in Bullitt East I think they would get more pub if outside the Louisville shadow)

Moore vs North Oldham (I think North has long term powerhouse potential in KY football, so I like to follow them but the game should be a blowout)

I like games that don't look like blowouts...

 

Atherton vs. Trimble County - two schools with new coaches

Oldham County vs. Conner - Could be very interesting matchup. Conner returns perhaps one of the finest QBs in the state - maybe THE best. Oldham has several returnees from last year's district champs and a pretty solid defense against the pass.

Highlands vs. Manual - I agree. Game of the week.

Western vs. DeSales - I'm thinking 4A Western may have their hands full with 2A DeSales.

Ballard vs. PRP - historically, a good matchup...

Pike County Central at Henry County - two 3A teams going at it. Mountain team comes to North Central KY. PCC was VERY young last year while going 4-7; HC trying to bounce back from injury-riddled 08 campaign.

Bethlehem vs. Fort Knox could be very competitive, too.

KCD vs. Paris Paris was 3-8 last year with only about 3 seniors on the squad, vs. a good schedule that included Raceland, LCA, and Williamsburg. KCD was 2-9 with only about 8 seniors and a bunch of MS kids on the roster(!) They also took on some powerhouses, including North Oldham and Crittenden County. Who's grown up the most in the off-season?
