Zollo playing soccer at GRC

George Rogers Clark junior Vinny Zollo has had a busy summer, touring the country as a member of the Indiana Elite summer AAU basketball team.

 

He will be busy this fall, too.

 

Zollo not only will be playing basketball for the second season in a row at Clark, but is a member of the boys soccer team as a goal keeper.

 

Clark boys soccer coach Greg Dyk likes what Zollo brings to the table.

 

“He is a great athlete, great kid and has an excellent work ethic,” he said. “Ben Harris will be our starting goal keeper and brings all the same qualities as Vinny, but has more experience and is a better keeper technically.

 

“We will focus on developing Vinny’s technique and understanding of the position this season in order to get him ready for a potential starting spot next season.”

I have heard that Vinny is a good soccer player. He didn't play last year because of a broken foot. I know he is looking forward to playing soccer this year.

This could be where he goes pro. I have no clue if he is any good, but a very athletic 6'8" goalie should make some teams very interested.

I also forgot to mention that they were having trouble finding size 19 soccer shoes....this too I guess is very unusual.....:lol:
