Wow a article about summer league baseball in the NKy.com. Sure thought I would be long gone before this ever happened in our local NKy. newspaper.

Are the Colonels known as the Northern Kentucky Colonels or just the Kentucky Colonels?

 

If they're not known as the Northern Kentucky Colonels then this would be another article that Hardin has written where he mangles someone's name and overlooks the facts. I know that student journalists are taught to transcribe and record interviews at the same time but after a while of making error after error, Hardin should think about purchasing a recorder to make sure he doesn't continue to make the same mistakes that he's known for making.

"Kentucky Colonels" and they have been that since 1994 and I noticed it also, but gee, I am just glad that NKy.com even did a story about a summer baseball team to complain about a mistake.

I know Trent's father very well and he is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. I hope Trent plays well this summer to help him out in the next 4 year or so.

I think you are correct with those magic two words "MANY YEARS AGO", back in the day's of Marty Keho who could really write and loved the local HS games, the local kids got a hole lot more ink than today.

I agree it's good to see coverage again, as it seemed to take a sabitical.

 

But, I do remember seeing some coverage in the Enquirer and Post about Comair and Erlanger Lions teams as recently as the 90's. Also, seems I've seen some Post coverage of Walt's Colonels teams in the past. May have been several year's ago, but I think they did a nice story on the Alig Memorial tournament at least once.

 

Not trying to argue with you, as I understand your point. I think the coverage has been there, albeit sporadic.

 

And speaking of sporadic, haven't seen any updates on recent Colonels games. Have they been suffering from rain-outs? Count me as one of those who enjoy reading your recaps of whatever team you are following and right now I'm missing your summer ball updates.

The Colonels played in Louisville this week (thur, Fri, Sat and Sun) but with the price of gas being what it is, and using up most of my get out of the house passes with CovCath this season, I haven't been on the road with them. In fact, I doubt very much if I will be able to attend any of the long "road trips" this season!

Marc did an excellent job on this story. Hopefully, their summer ball will allow all of the unsigned players the ability to play at the next level once other coaches see them.

 

Trent is a very nice young man. I would like to see him play in college somewhere.
