I disagree. The lowering of the shoulder could easily constitute malicious contact. Again, you have two choices. Go around or slide . Leading with your shoulder is a violation.

 

If you don't have malicious contact you also don't have interference.

 

By the way, I can also see this not being called. Like the HC/BW game, its a judgement call.

Apparently there was a video on one of the Lexington news channels last night of the HC incident and the Catholic incident with some interviews. If I can find the video, I will post a link for it.

Disagree Totally. Lowering of the shoulder doesn't do anything if contact isn't made. This was nothing more than A-rods slap of the glove in series a couple of years ago. Leading with the shoulder is not a violation if it doesn't make contact. Period.

Agree with all other than the contact point. There was contact. I could see an umpire saying that the contact was a violation due to him not trying to avoid the contact.
