East Carter v. Lawrence County Rescheduled for 6/6

Featured Replies

Game has been resheduled for Sat. at 11:00am if East were to win to send it to the third game it will be played Sat. evening starting at 6:00pm.

Can Chandler Shepherd pitch on saturday? If so East is done IMO.

Yes but I don't think they would pitch him in the first game because if he were to pitch and lose that would be a big lift for East going into the 3rd game, plus if they were to win the 2nd game without pitching he would be well rested for the State next week. I would hold him back and let the thought of that be on East's minds during the first game. Remember East got the same amout of hits off Shepherd that Lawrence got off Stapleton. Lawrence did not impress anyone with their hitting. They will have to hit better Sat. than they did Tuesday. But Sheperd will be hard to beat whichever game he throws he is tough.

Yes, I believe he can. I don't like the set-up from the start. This series should have been scheduled on 3 straight days. Then if it rains so be it. I don't have a dog in this fight, but in the best-of-three series, no team should be able to throw their #1 twice. The series should be as equal as possible. Not saying that East could never beat Sheppard, but the advantage has to go to Lawerence. I know people are going to dis-agree with me, this is just an innocent bi-standards opinion. :thumb:

From what I was told this was propsed by the state to give smaller school who may not have as many good pitchers as some bigger schools a better chance. Of course this will be a moot point next season with all 16 regions winners going straight to state like basketball.

Yeah and possibly playing 2 games in one day is a bad situation as well. Momentum to East if they win the 1st game. This is one of the reasons why the KHSAA went away from the two day semi-state after 2004.

Thanks, I was just thinking out loud. With this set-up, East pretty much had to win game one.
