Beechwood baseball?

Featured Replies

Anyone have a scouting report on this team? Starting pitching, coaching, top hitters, etc.? Thanks.

All I can tell you is they have alot of what is in your avatar. They have more HEART than any team I have ever seen. The rest is left up to the other team to scout. I am sure that did not happen since no one expected them to be here.

Smith is the ace of the staff. Chas Hyde is the best hitter. We are a very young team starting only 3 seniors and a junior.

Tradition as well lately is a key factor in their success. They are young as is Harrison County if they make it past Scott High. Harrison versus Beechwood would be a very good match-up and a repeat from the last time the 9th and 10th Regions played 3 years ago.

They are extremely well-coached with Bob Meyerhoff.

My impression of Beechwood is that they truly accomplish a lot as a "team." Smith is a fine pitcher, but you really can't say there are any superstars on this team. You can't just look to shut down one or two players in order to stop them. They have a team of numerous solid ballplayers that play very well together. Best of luck to them at semi-state and hopefully down at Applebee's!

One lucky game and now there contenders. We all gave credit for the miracle. Harrison County two straight.:thumb::thumb:

I am sure HC scouted the Beechies when they lost to Estill in Cynthiana.

I am sure the Tigers appreciate MOST of the other schools support in the 9th region. Thanks from the Tigers COOP!!!

They may have, but this team has grown up a little over the season. They may not win this series, but they did get to play in it.:lol::lol:

That's really amazing of you to say! This goes to show I was right on when I said CCH fans tend to think there always a little better than the "others". Had CCH won the region I would give my support to them whether I liked them or not, just because I'd want someone to win from my region. Oh well, I give up.

I'm a Beechwood fan, and I even believe that our fans can take it too far. With that being said, you have to be a part of the CCH/BHS rivalry to understand how and why fans react to wins and losses.

I will be rooting for Beechwood, but as your own Coach said after the Holy Cross game in the 35th District, something you get lucky, and to beat Harrison in a best out of three will need some luck on your side.

AJ needs to pitch better, Bertke needs to keep the ball in the ballpark, and if I were Bob, Snyder would go again. Snyder with his heart alone, will/could carry the Tigers to victory.

Good luck guy's:thumb:
