The Scribe Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 He was the head football coach at Caldwell County in the 70s and 80s. Also coached their softball teams to the state tournament and coached the girls golf team to a state title. He coached a total of 45 years in the Caldwell County system. And a swell guy too. westsider Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Coach G was a great guy ... He had an unusual claim to fame in his last year as the Tigers' football coach. Caldwell beat two state championship teams that season, Crittenden County and Mayfield. The latter was in a mud bowl, as I recall, and it was Giordano's last game. I think those were the only games Caldwell won that season.
inorout Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Coach G was a quality man as well as coach. I was able to get to know him during my stay at Trigg Co. I respected him greatly and always appreciated his input into my coaching career. QUALITY MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
KYCOACH82 Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 I always love seeing stories about Coaches who had such an impact on their community. I wish his family the very best!
