Very good game at Heritage....It was 4-2 going into 7th when Heritage walked #4 Hitter Klass to load bases after an error to leadoff inning followed by hit. Next batter pops up infield fly but infield was playing so 2nd baseman is going back to get under 2nd runner on 3rd tagged up and scored on close play at plate. Then hit followed then another costly throwing error. took a good close game to 8-2... Schwalbach pitched for Newport and got win and Schroer pitched real good striking out 8 and walking only 3...

What would be your best guess on how hard Schroer throws?

 

I haven't gotten to see Heritage play, but am curious to know what their pitching depth would offer if they beat Cooper in the 33rd play-in game and meet up with the #1 seed (either Boone or Conner) the next round. I hardly see that game as a complete walk in the park for the #1 team.

He is around 83-85 mph. If he has control, he could be really good. Would get more K's if he broke his curve ball off in dirt instead of throwing for strikes...I think District will not be play in game. #1 team gets bye...Probably Boone Cty. #2 plays 5 and #3 plays 4. Heritage takes 5 seed all time. So, it would be Ryle vs Heritage and winner playing Boone and Conner against Cooper.. That is assuming seeds are Boone, Ryle, Conner, Cooper and Heritage....

Mistaken on my seeds. Boone or Conner would be 1 or 2, Ryle then Cooper.....then Heritate.

Pretty certain (almost 100% positive) Buzzard is not correct here, for the exact reason you stated. You have to get it down to four teams and the way you do that is have a first-round "play-in" game between the #4 and #5 seeds. It has been that way in the 33rd for several years. This year it'll be Heritage and Cooper in the first round game and the winner will meet the winner of the upcoming Boone/Conner game next week (as the winner will get the #1 seed). Loser of the Boone/Conner game would get a home game against Ryle.
