April 30, 200917 yr People said the same thing to CBS a couple of decades ago about a show that showed college basketball brackets. Please. I can appreciate your passion but don't lose all of your good sense.
April 30, 200917 yr Volquez threw a one-hit shutout. No highlights yet. Yep, I just switched over to ESPN and guess what they were talking about? Not Volquez being amazing, but how David Wright, a NEW YORK MET, is struggling. Everyone in baseball struggles. Not everyone throws a one hit shut out. They are very biased to New York and Boston and Philly teams. Then, the next highlight, a Phillies highlight.

April 30, 200917 yr Author So basically, halfway through the show the Yanks, Mets, and Red Sox highlights are twice as long as everyone else and we've had breakdowns of the Yanks pitcher and Mets slugger. Nothing on the the two pitchers who threw one-hitters and why they were successful. But I can see where people dont think there is a NE bias.

April 30, 200917 yr Let me preface this by saying I respect your opinion, Scribe. ESPN shows what is interesting to a majority of viewers. The Reds are not that interesting right now. The Yanks are always interesting because everyone has an opinion on them (love them or hate them). Same with the Red Sox (same reasons as well). The Mets have been compelling due to their collapses at the end of seasons. Folks in general care about these stories more. Colin Cowherd is always ranting about stuff like this. I agree with him. If the Reds want more air time, they have to be more interesting. Cubs get time, Phillies get time; even the KC pitcher Grienke got time. It is all about interest and their isn't enough in a lot of the smaller market teams to justify spending more time on them (the same argument applies to horse racing, btw). ESPN tries to generate interests for events they cover and will continue to do so. I have no problem with that. If folks really want to change things, stop watching. That is the only way they will re-evaluate their programming strategy.
