AD needs to step up; I never thought I would be sending them any place else but two boys that I am certain will like to have the opportunity to play all 3 sports and weigh each of the programs equally. No 6th grade hoops, no freshman baseball might steer in a different direction. I don't think this is much to ask? We moved in the area for athletics and academics the entire package. With the success in our feeder football program why not build younger programs in basketball and baseball. I know many parents are wanting this. What does this take an act of Congress. I might need to do a Jack Bauer on the subject. What type of grass roots effort must it take. Both are long time in coming and really gets me:madman:

Go ahead and jump, that is what I want to do. I know a lot of those 5th grade boys they have size, talent and good parents working on good school/AAU programs for them to play basketball, but they need to offer a 6th grade program. I am going to tell you that 5th grade is full of talent, similar to what the junior class is in basketball then we are going to be skipping a year because nobody in 4th grade plays AAU basketball. Look the Tarheel U10 thread in general discussion. Only one Ft Thomas boy, which is probably going to NewCath. My son was fortunate enough that a coach was kind enough to let him play up with the 5th graders. Skipping a class is going to happen year in and year out until you build in all sports.

I would say, Don't let the door hit ya! Don't get on here and threaten the system or the programs for that matter. Seriously, no one or in your case two kids are bigger than the school or programs. Yes sure, we would like to see all levels offered but it just isn't happening.

 

So with that, I would suggest you look elsewhere because looks like you won't be able to be satisfied. There are already plenty of those type parents in Ft. Thomas now!!! Clyde seems to have the answer for you. Good Luck with that one.

Wow! I did not threaten the system or believe for one minute that my boys would make that much of a difference in the system. Let's be honest, I am not asking for much more than what every other program in the area has that is a middle school 6th grade basketball team and freshman baseball team. If the kids want it why can't we rally around it. Let's be honest the boys play in a cracker jack gym with closet locker rooms and now we can't provide programs for the kids. Something doesn't add up. The kids bleed Highlands blue and do without. I understand that the facilities will built down the road, but baseball and basketball needs these programs trust me. I along with many others parents dedicate plenty of time in the Ft Thomas area sports programs. I would like for you to justify to the rest of us why this can't happen?? I find your answer difficult to swallow:popcorn:
