NKY - JV Baseball

Featured Replies

JV Baseball ---- anyone know how the local NKY JV teams are doing? Who has been playing well...who looks to be solid....top 3 JV teams this year, thus far? Know it has to be hard with all the rainouts.

JV Camels are 6-0 this year. Too many close games that shouldn't have been as close. So they aren't a really solid team.

Ryle is 9-3 so far after losing to Boone tonight 12-7. Despite a decent record, this team makes too many defensive mistakes to be considered a top 3 caliber team.

Dixie is 5-2 with losses to Boone and Campbell County.

Isn't winning just about winning??? Not sure how solid they are but to be undefeated ( 8- 0 ) with wins over Scott, Dixie, Holy Cross, who all are usually solid teams....seems like Camels must be ok.

NCC is very strong especially if the younger Kelly brother is playing down. Cov.Cath I am sure is solid again, Coach Michaels does a great job.

I've heard they are making quite a few defensive miscues, but they still seem to be winning very consistently and have had to overcome some injuries (just lost starting catcher for the season). The more than avenged their early season loss to CCH, beating them 3 times since then, and have also already beaten Boone. So they've shown they can beat even the teams they've lost o. Coach Demler always - ALWAYS - has his team ready to play at the end of the season and come tournament time, they will be ready.

Dixie's JV team makes way to many mistakes. 6 errors in the Boone lose and 3 in the Campbell lose. Not sure they are ready to be called a top 3 team just yet.

That being said it would be nice to play more than 7 games. They have played 7 games with 11 rainouts and it is looking like they will add to the rainout total this week.

I have not seen him pitch in game action so I would not know.

It's hard to play solid defensively when you can't get on a field to practice or play due to rain. That being said they have made a few mistakes that will hopefully be taken care of soon. The pitching (at least in the CC loss) has kept them in the games which is always good to hear.
