No offense, but I would like you to be the official scorer everytime my kid hits Cooper had two bunts that were not handled, the shortstop over threw first by ten feet, the right fielder dropped a fly ball, the center fielder had a ball go through his legs, the left fielder had one get by him... and these are just the ones off the top of my head. In defense on some plays, Lloyd's field is not one of the best I've seen, and that's putting it nicely.

 

I'm not making excuses, Lloyd deserved to win more than Cooper and they both played on the same field and Lloyd misplayed several as well. Just very generous scoring, but you took the time to keep track, and everyone has an opinion. :thumb:

To be completely honest Lloyd took Cooper very lightly. They didn't expect Cooper to come out swinging and hit the ball the way they did. Lloyd's Aaron Warren (sp) didn't have his best stuff, but still managed to get out of some jams. Thompson came in and closed for Lloyd and really did a great job. As far as Lloyd's field goes....The infield is great, but the football team just tears the outfield to shreds. Try having it all season. :puke:

I think that the fact that the field was even ready to play today is pretty incredible due to the fact that a Home game was moved to Calvary yesterday. I heard that one of the assistant coaches spent his entire morning working on the field and that should be commended.

 

Yes the outfield is choppy but as was stated before, football season really hurts the ability for them to have a nice playing surface all year round. But it is what it is and you have to do the best with what you have.

 

As far as scoring, everyone sees things different and perhaps some of the balls in the outfield were ruled hits more so because of the playing surface than the actual misplaying of balls. I don't know because I didn't see the plays you mentioned.

 

From what I did see, Cooper has a solid but young ball club. Coach Bieger always has his kids ready to play and they play the game the right way. Give him a few years to get some experienced players in that system and he will definitely have that program moving up! Best of luck!
