Who can stop Holmes from making it back to the Sweet 16?

I will gladly add Conner: really liked the way they played this year, just a little inconsistent. If Hodges gets stronger he could be a nice post player, Meech is a great shooter and Stephens is a nice ballhandler & leader but will have to score more next season. They are probably a little behind the others mentioned but could develop into a contender.

I agree. With Coach Hicks though, you can never count them out, especially with the 3 players that they return. I know their Jv team was pretty solid too (inconsistent though) and had some talent. Not sure how many losses Holmes JV team had (maybe 4?) but I know one of them came to Conner.

I never once said the other 9th region teams won't get better. I just think Holmes will have a better team next year than they had this year most people in Covington feel the same way. I will admit I see through red glasses, but the Bulldogs has proving me right more than once. They have proving me right 4 out of the last 5 years.

Coming off a State Championship and being better still ......If you are right that will be something to see !:isurrender: JK. I do believe they will be solid but they do have some roles to fill before I would make that declaration. Just keep in mind that there is serious talent in the '10 class in NKY and all around the state......should be a competetive season locally and beyond.

I agree that they have big roles to fill left by three seniors. Just as this year they had roles to fill left by seven seniors and it goes on. But knowing all these young men personally and seeing the work ethic that they have developed over the past two years I have no doubt that they will get better. I will be the first to say if you think the big 3 for Holmes has already peeked you are sadly mistaken. The best is yet to come from them 3 and Rice. And yes I'm a big Holmes Homer my glasses are as red as Clifford the big red dog.:D

No one... Kavon will be a year older and stronger and probably taller. Between Mayfield, McClendon, Slusher from the JV level they will fill in quite well for the graduating seniors. The 6'7 boy on the freshman team will be able to add more length down low in limited minutes and Kavon younger brother Dontel is already 6'3 and can put the ball in the hole. Oh yeah on top of that Rico, JJ, and Elijah all return... would be more shocked next year than i would have been this year if the Dawgs are not back at Rupp in March.

Who is the 6'7 boy from the freshman team? Is that the younger cousin of Yancy Gates that I've heard about? I've heard he isn't very good offensively but could be a help at the defensive end because of his size and bulk.

I also seem to remember them having a 6'2 freshman at the beginning of the year....Zion? Zylon? I believe it's the Herndon boy's younger brother?

No northern Kentucky team would beat Holmes in a best of 7 or even a best of 5 series next year. Considering the state tourney is one and out, who could knock Holmes off... Highlands & Boone County.
