I think Scott County will come out of the 11th.

This should be a great regional tournament. No one really got that good of a draw IMO. I believe Scott Co, LexCath, and Franklin Co. are all top 10 teams. Also Henry Clay is a dangerous team. And you can never count out Madison Central.

Absolutely I agree with the bold, They have 4 D1 starters including three D1 transfers. I have to agree with posters on this site that said Scott County just reloads. I am positive that their was even a poster or two that said help was on the way, and sure enough it was. Scott County is the overwhelming favorite.

Any team (Scott Co) that has that many D1 players should win it walking away. Reload in high school basketball in what manner? Oh that's right, cultivate local talent. ; )

What makes high school basketball so great is that doesn't always happen. In 98 LexCath was loaded and didn't win it all. One thing I can guarantee that IMO seperates Ky from other states is Ky kids will play harder and with more heart than anyone on average. Madison Southern or Henry Clay aren't just going to roll over and play dead because they are playing Scott Co. and LexCath. They are going to give it everything they got.

The Lafayette-Franklin Co. matchup is interesting as well. Lafayette has struggled, but they have Litton back now and played LexCath very tough for a half the other night. This gives Litton a few more days to return to form. While I think Franklin Co. will win it could be a much better game than people realize.

It's already been proven by Holmes that Scott Co is beatable by in state opponents. With that being said, it will take a valiant effort by any team at this point in the year to knock them off. I see a Scott Co/Lexcath 11th region final.

It only matters in that Scott County has raised the bar. I understand this thread is about the draw and hopefully it will be an exciting tournament. Yes they have the best team but it does matter why, because it may be the blueprint for how to compete in the 11th region in the future. I personnally believe that an organization does not have to reinvent the wheel to be successful. What you can do is look at others that are successful and copy what they do. That is just smart business practice. So if Scott County is the best team, with the best program, then their's is the blueprint for others to copy.

There are several good programs in the 11th region. Look at Franklin Co. They have been able to draw in a great player in Donovan. If you build a good program players will get developed and kids outside of the district will come in as well.

So the blueprint other teams need to try to follow is to hire Billy Hicks?

Hicks is a very good coach, but there are other good coaches. I think you would have to look at everything that they do well as a program.

I just disagree with dryz93 that it does matter why Scott County is good, and I am complimenting SC by saying theirs is the blueprint. To be successful others should take notice and possibly do things differently. Isn't Einstein's definition of insanity "to keep doing things the same way and expect different results"?

Was Franklin County really an underdog in '95? I thought they only lost two or three games that year, one being to the eventual state champs!

All I was saying is this thread was made to talk about matchups and how the tourney might play out, it wasn't opened to be another thread to talk about the transfers at Scott County.
