bigben21 Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Since Coach Oliverio seems to only play her 8th, 9th & 10th graders, does that mean A Jump won't get to play next season? How can a coach move her own daughter up from 8th grade to play Varsity unless her daughter is phenomenal? I understand that the only players that she coaches are her starting 5 and her next 3. Everyone is still waiting to hear what Principal Turner, A/D Demler ( who, by the way did know) and the BOE are going to do about her.
Crunch-time Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 3 coaches with 3 Daughters on the team must make it a little tricky to deal with at times. They are obviously making it work.

GatorFan Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Isn't it the object of basketball to win? If you have younger girls that have the same talent as the upper classmen, do the math. You have more time to develop the girls and plan for the future.
Jesse James Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Lots of school bring up 8th graders. Look at Marion County who is dominated by 8th graders( Epps, Goodin-Rodgers). Pittman from Casey County was All Region as a 8th grader as was Bowlin at Wayne County. Lots of 8th graders playing up in girls basketball.
nkyvbfan Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 It will be interesting to see how far they make it work in the Regional tournament (assuming they get by Conner). Pressure seems to get a little higher this time of year. They are still a very young team and a couple of their assistant coaches seem to be quite "annimated" on the sideline already. Hopefully, this doesn't affect their players.
bigben21 Posted February 23, 2009 Author Posted February 23, 2009 (edited) You're missing the point Jesse James. Edited February 23, 2009 by Ram Rule 13
nkyvbfan Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 I agree with bigben, but I think this was covered in a post a couple of weeks ago.
Jesse James Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 I see your point, but you need to take those allegations to the KHSAA, not here.
