catfan08 Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Who won the EKC, or do they still have games???
Big Slick Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 I am going take a wild guess and say Elliot Co.
racer4life Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I am going take a wild guess and say Elliot Co. Wow Slick you really went out on the limb with that guess.
16thBBall Fan Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I am going take a wild guess and say Elliot Co. Not so sure about that I think some schools did not play all or enough games. Don't know which but I heard there are two or three.
kentuckyron Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 For the last couple of years, the EKC has been a "showcase" rather than a tournament. This year, ten teams played five games on 13 December in Lewis County. The results, according to the KHSAA site, were as follows: East Carter 66 Rowan 41 Elliott 109 Lewis 60 Bath 73 Russell 58 West Carter 68 Fleming 63 Morgan 53 Raceland 44
Matlock Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I think he is referring to the conference schedule and champion. They meet on Saturday.
Big Slick Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Conference voted to change first of the season tourney to showcase a couple of years ago, I was told because some wanted less schedule restrictions and also they played the same teams again potentially. Probably not a bad idea.
Radioboy74 Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 The show case is just that you still have a regular season champion I have been told. Elliott this year did not schedule enough games and those result in a loss when they are not played so Mathmatically they are out of the crown.
Big Slick Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Who didn't they schedule? By looking at teams at showcase, maybe only Bath, anyone else go undefeated or 1 loss in conference play?
Cubster Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Elliott will be the champion. The discussion will be for second between Bath and West if Bath beats Lewis Thursday. Bath and West did not play for some reason.
