I would hope not. This team has to be the unluckiest in the region. They have come so close all year to beating really good teams but get edged out by 1 or 2. I hope the luck changes for districts.

 

Someone asked about details and there really aren't any. Both teams played extremely hard and it was exciting to watch.

 

The only thing I question is the decision on a sub. I would have used Royalty to give Bonner a break. Just my opinion.

 

Boy you got that right, Ashland has lost a bunch of games by 1 or 2 points. I know this is crying about just one thing, but at the end of the game, with the game on the line, EVERYBODY in the gym saw the basketball get kicked by a West player except all THREE refs.:irked: Of course that resulted in a basket at the other end, Murphy's Law.

I thought the game was at West Carter and was surprised it was that close. Definitely a good win for West Carter on the road.

I wasn't trying to start a rumor or anything; I just know that the expectation level is (was?) high at Ashland, and they have a way of "removing" coaches when mediocrity rears its head.

As I have posted previously, Ashland won because they wanted the game more than did Rose Hill. Ashland showed a lot of pride and determination. Rose Hill needs to learn to do the same. Rose Hill clearly has more talent than does Ashland (although without Gregg, that may not be the case) and will "outtalent" Ashland for the next 3 to 5 years or so unless Ashland attracts some new athletes or Rose Hill has another mass exodus. However, talent and potential don't get it without pride and determination.

 

As for coaching, Biggs is a good coach and a nice fellow but I'm quite pleased with the coaching of John Bush.

Ashland vs Rose Hill makes for a good rivalry game. Thats all, nothing else. I wish all of the "adults" involved could understand that......

Old Shooter you are indeed a gentleman, even though I may not agree with you on some things. People and athletes have a way of stepping up year after year. Thats why they actually play, and thats why its' so much fun to watch. As for the the feud thing, I must have been on vacation at the time. I can say with certainty that Ashland played well last night and the only thing that surprised me was the free throw shooting was off more than I would have thought. All though I am not familiar with the situation with Corey Gregg, no one wants to see an athlete hurt and out of action. Best wishes to Corey at this time, as well as the rest.
