Owen led, 24-20, at the half, and expanded it to an 8 point lead midway through the third period. A series of turnovers, an intentional foul, and a technical on the Owen bench allowed South to tie the game heading into the final period, when the Dragons grabbed a slim advantage - building eventually a 6 point lead - and hanging on for the win.

 

Owen County had the ball out of bounds beneath their own basket with 15.5 seconds to play, down 62-57, and set up for a corner shot for Collin Gamble, but the South defense wouldn't permit a shot until Jordan Shelton finally got off a lunging shot from the baseline with 2 seconds to play...he got his own rebound and the stickback to account for the final score.

 

Drew Kraemer led South with 19 points, and Casey Jackson added 16 (14 in the second half). Surprisingly, Owen outrebounded the smaller Dragons by only three (unofficially), 28-25.

 

South improves to 9-13; Owen falls to 11-13.
