Will Obama be vilified for this?

Right. The buses could have been used to evacute people. However, since they weren't, those that relied on public transit could do very little to leave, unless they could purchase a vehicle or had friends willing to transport them.

TB&G- I am going to be honest here. I have lived a very privileged life- my parents grew up poor and worked hard to get to the point where we are. Either way, I really don't know what it is like to be poor first hand, and I never claimed to have. Maybe you or someone else can answer this for me.

At least in America, I can't imagine being so incredibly poor that I can not physically move myself a few hundred miles within a few days, and still be homeless 4 years later. And apparently there is a large population that has happened to (according to some posters- not you). Does this really take place in America? Are there really people who have no physical way of moving?

I am unsure about the still homeless part. I think another poster gave information on that. For the moving part, I went to school with people that had never even been outside of our county. Add to that not having your own transportation. You take the bus or walk everywhere you need to. How would you leave then?
