OneCat
Nice win for GC, even with Stith out. I would have loved to see Coach Kinman with spirit fingers!!!:jump:
24smom
Sounds like a great atmosphere, the way every game should be. Does your band show up for every game or just a few select games? For some reason, I thought the Grant Co. fans sat on the side opposite the benches. The band is there for quite a few & are usually in the upper area...and you are correct, the GC fans have normally sat on the opposite side. Not last night! It most definitely got to Williamstown a bit...it was kind of fun to see Williamstown players & Coach Wilhoit have to move their chairs out on the court at breaks in order to hear! We all have seen that happen to the visiting teams when going to Williamstown! Wonder if Coach Guffey, girls coach, will be borrowing Coach Kinmon's spirit fingers for the boys game Friday night vs Williamstown?
1734
Her knee is the same...it wasn't bothering her anymore than normal. She "rolled" her ankle on the other leg in a game Friday. She aggravated it a bit off another player's foot in the 4th last night, but it is OK & not serious. She was in foul trouble last night so sat most of the 3rd & part of the 4th...it seems to take her more to keep warmed up & from becoming a little stiff because of the knee, so she was more uncomfortable in the 4th than she normally is. She played a big role in that 2nd qtr! Williamstown brought a little something new in their defensive effort on her last night & I thought once Grant Co adjusted late in the 1st & into the 2nd, they changed the outcome of the game in the 2nd quarter. It was great to see Grant's bench step up & work hard! Great team effort! There is more work to be done, but last night was a big step in the right direction. I think it wasn't really something GC did differently, it was Williamstown's inability to put the ball in the basket and their inability to keep GC off of the offensive glass. You score 2 points in a quarter and you will get outscored 99.9% of the time. GC did hit some shots in the 2nd, especially 2 circus shots by Workman. Williamtown came out in a 2-3 zone with one exception, man to man on Gorby full court. GC started rotating Gorby to the wing. Opened up the offense a bit including on the boards. She went to the bench in foul trouble in the 3rd. I would say that GC did hit some shots in the 2nd...16-2? Grant County's defense may have played a role??
