Nice win for the Lady Camels. Congrats to Coach Cravens.

Establishing themselves as one of the top 2-3 teams in the 10th region.

My understanding is that this game was not really this close at the end but Kitchen and Bowling were on the bench as the game was ending and Harrison ran off some late steals and baskets to pull it closer.

Good to hear that Ms. Dennie is back on the court for the Fillies. She should definitely help out and plays hard.

Cravens has a pretty strong coaching staff. Wouldn't be surprised to see some of them in head coaching spots soon.

Coach Riley is as good or better as many of the head coaches in the region.

Campbell really has a chance to make a long run at regionals.

They get Montgomery on the other side of the bracket in the draw and I could easily see them making it to the championship game.

And on any given night, one good team can beat one very good team.

Nice inside game with Peters.

Bowling is quicker as I have ever seen her play.

Some good outside shooters.

Kitchen can do a little bit of everything.

And Coach Cravens always has the Lady Camels playing tough, strong defense. They haven't always been able to throw it in the ocean but they play hard and rebound well. That will keep you in a lot of games.

And this year he has players that can make some shots.

Seriously, who has Campbell Co. beat? I'm just trying to be a realist here! Clark Co. and Paris are the next 2 best teams after Montgomery Co. and I say that because of whom they have played. The 40th District has the 3 best teams in the 10th. Now can anybody be beaten on any night? Certainly, but Montgomery Co. is probably 20pts. better than the next best team. I've had a chance to see most all better teams in the 10th play this year and it's not even close unless Montgomery just plays uninspired. :ohbrother:

Scott, Holmes, Brossart, Pendleton, Ripley, Russell, St. Henry (9-5), Dayton, Bellevue, Lloyd, Mason, Carroll County (14-6 record) and of course Harrison.

Lost to Boone County by 10 and Notre Dame by 13.

Exactly!!!!!! They've lost by double digits to the 2 best teams they've played! It's hard to get better or to challenge yourself when you haven't seen it all season. That's why Montgomery Co. has dominated the region tournament in years, Mason Co. and Paris was it's only rival because they would go out and make themselves better by playing the best in the state. Montgomery Co. can beat you in a variety of ways, offensively, defensively, up tempo, slow it down they've got a lot of pieces. They are a fun team to watch. They've got two players coming off the bench that would start on the rest of the teams in the 10th. I mean, I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but when evaluating teams you have to look comparitively. Next year, we maybe talking about St. Pat., Mason Co., Scott High or Clark Co. at this time next year because Montgomery loses so much but they still will have Jehlik and Garland and some talented underclassmen.

My position has been that Montgomery has separated themselves out from the rest of the field.

Campbell can make noise IF they get the right draw at region. Meaning Montgomery is on the other side.

Now that said even if Montgomery is on their side....they have the talent to be "on any given night anyone can be anyone teams." Only 2-3 teams have what it takes to be one of those teams versus Montgomery County. Coach Cravens group would be one of those teams. 9 times out of 10 Montgomery County would probably beat CCHS. But they ONLY have to be that 1 time out of 10 team.

By all means Montgomery County wears the mantle of heavy favorite come district/region time.

It's not that Montgomery Co. can't be beat, I'm just arguing the idea that Campbell Co. is a top 3 team in the region. IMO, the 3 top teams in the region are still out of the 40th District. It's gonna take defense to beat Montgomery Co. and the only ones capable of coming close are Clark Co and Paris. Now that being said, only 2 of the 3 teams will make it to the region and I don't think Campbell Co. could beat Clark Co. or Paris just because of the defensive element and the fact that Clark Co. and Paris have challenged themselves more with their schedules. That's the point I'm making. The initial post was saying what a nice win Campbell Co. had over Harrison Co. Now in years past that may have been a barometer but not this year even though both teams are likely to be in the 10 Region tournament. That's all I'm saying! Just being a realist!
