passtheball
Manual down 12 points when Jacob Jenkins enters the game with just over 3 minutes to go in the 1st quarter and that's when Jenkins reeled off 8 points including a 3-quarter court 3-pointer as time expires in the first. Manual took control of the game going into the 2nd quarter with the sharp play of Sean Samsel and Jenkins in the backcourt. However, Manual went bench after they had built a 10-point lead with the momentum firmly on the Crimson side and St. X recovered. From their it was dog fight with the lead never reaching double figures the rest of the way. In the 4th period with St. X up to, Jenkins was clutch nailing two back-toback treys, one fading away from 25-feet. This followed by a bullet pass from Jenkins to Samsel that split the defenders for a 6-point lead. Again, Manual goes bench and X takes full advantage as the game goes OT. In OT it was Samsel and Jenkins controlling the ball, while Tre Jones hit 5 of 6 shots to give the Crimson a huge win considering all adversities. X had their chances, but the ball wouldn't fall. Great game by both teams. Jenkins led Manual with 23 unofficially.

Samsel had a terrific night at the point leading with 12 assists. Jenkins finished with 23 pts, 7 rebounds, and added 7 assists.
faxisfax
Manual was down 13-5 when Jenkins checked in the game. He finished with 21 points, including a 3/4 court bomb,6 rebounds and 2 assists. Samsel had 9 points and 9 assists. Never thought Manual had control of the game. They did go on a 12-0 spurt in the 4th quarter for a 9 point lead, but St.X came right back at them and had 2 opportunities to win the game in regulation, but the shots would not fall. Your stats are wrong. In the 2nd half alone, Jenkins with a drop pass to Jones, Jenkins to Mitchell for 3, Jenkins to Nikolic for a laying, and again Jenkins split the defenders with a halfcourt bullitt to Samsel. Manual is a different team now. Good game.
TigerX
St. X has a very nice team, they just need to find a way to get over the hump in big games. They may be one of the more underrated teams in the region. Hopefully as things continue they can find a way to win late in ball games. Good Luck Tigers! mcpapa
This is a pretty good win for Manual. St. X's record isn't much, but they have played a lot of good teams extremely tough.

Isn't it amazing what a player like Jenkins can bring to a ball team. Its hard not to wonder how good Manual could have been in the KOB, LIT, and other games if Jenkins is at 100%. Although he only played 20 minutes or so tonight it was evident why Manual was ranked top 5.
mcpapa
I know you're supposed to take them "one game at a time", but I imagine February 10th is circled on the calendar. Manual could very well be entering that one on a 5-game win streak.

It was really good seeing Jenkins warmup, bouncing around with some excitement, dunking, and popping threes before the game. The team's confidence level was way up. Right now, its good to know we are getting back. I really like that backcourt duo of Jenkins and Samsel. They will continue to improve and hopefully make some kind of run in February. passtheball
My stats are the computer print out done at the game!! Easy fella. I left off another Jenkins assist from the 4th. Drive and dish to Mitchell underneath to a layin. That makes 5 in the 2nd half alone. Here's some highlights including one of Samsel's kicks to Jenkins and the 75-footer by Jenkins to end the 1st. http://www.hsgametime.com/louisville/videopage.html?nvid=324925
