MountainThunder Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 This was one of the best games I have seen the Lady Cards play this season. They were more agressive. Jessica Dean was the Hoopfest Player of the Game. I was very impressed with Holder, the Lady Marshall who has signed to play for Murray State. She had a double double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. She is impressive.
westsider Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Marshall is making some adjustments after one of their starting guards transferred to Crittenden County earlier this month. She was probably the best 3-point shooter in the region and she was Marshall's third leading scorer. As Calloway showed, teams can afford to sit back in a zone against Marshall and just key on Holder.
Athena Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Marshall County is a good team. They just do not play to schedule to get them ready to play better teams outside of the 1st Region. It happens every year they look like world beaters down in the 1st which is typically a very weak region and when they step out of the region they do not do very well.
MountainThunder Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 I will say this and hope not to upset anyone, but I have to say I that a few of the Marshall fans were really rough on the officials who I thought did a pretty good job. At one point in the first half, South Laurel had picked up 9 fouls and Marshall County only had had 1 or 2, and they were riding the officials on every call or non-call they thought they missed. I thought it was a little overboard. However, on the positive side, they really do travel well and support their team. Very impressed with their turnout!

Marshall has already played two of the best teams in west Tennessee.

Surely not ... Besides, they've seen home cooking often enough to recognize it when they see it.

They had good numbers, especially for a girls game on a Thursday night! One fan even came with a sign that read 'Bad Call Ref'! Nothing like being prepared!!! :thumb::lol:
