Second round of the All "A" played at June Buchanan

 

The Lady Owls played a great game and came out on the short end of the stick. Peyton Wright stoled the ball with 5 seconds remaining in regulation and hit a layup to force the game into overtime. Great game by the Lady Owls as they are still without their leading scorer Mika Turner.

Why isn't Turner playing?

She has mono and will be out for up to two weeks or even longer.

I'm proud of the Lady Owls. Having to leave a 24 ppg player back in Booneville because of illness is a bad break, but those things happen sometimes. It would have been interesting to see what the outcome would have been, however, had Turner been able to play. Maybe these two teams will meet up later in the post-season and hopefully Owsley will be at full strength.
