What's the call?....again

Featured Replies

Team A is being pressed by Team B. Player A1 throws a long pass to A2 who is running down court toward Team A's basket. As the ball arrives, player B1 reaches to deflect the pass and hits A2 (not a flagarant foul). As B1 fouls A2, the ball hits A2 in the head and goes in the basket. What's the call?

The basket wouldn't count as the foul was on the floor and the person wasn't in the act of shooting. Anyone else agree with my assessment?

What if it hits him in the head, is in the air, then he's fouled, then the ball goes in the basket?

Also forgot to mention the man didn't have control of the ball so yet again it would foul on the floor and the shot wouldn't count.

No basket. Ball becomes dead on the foul since its not a shot.

Did you see a variation of this play tonite at NCC? I was told something very close to this scenario happened and it was initially ruled good before the refs got together and changed their collective mind.
