Always good to see a 10th region team play well against teams from other states! Congrats to Mason Co.

I too am always pulling for any 10th region team to do well. Congrats to the Royals.:thumb:

Like I've said before, if Russ doesnt score a majority of their points they wont have an offense. There just isnt as much firepower on this team as the past years and that will come back to hurt them down the stretch. But congrats on the W and representing your state along with town with class! Should be an interesting one Monday

I would have to agree with everything said here.

Russ will be the leading scorer for Mason County for most of this season. Although he may not do much vocally, the way he took over the game in the 4th quarter on Saturday shows his leadership and importance to this team.

So far this season, it seems the days of the run-and-gun, high-scoring Royals are over and done with. However, it is still fairly early in the season and I am not for sure if the team has found a true identity yet. Let's wait until early Febuary to see if the other players become more consistent and the team develops more chemistry, both factors in finding an identity.

As for the game on Monday (vs. United Faith Christian Academy Falcons, NC), it should be very interesting. It's not everyday that Mason County, or any school from KY for that matter, plays a team with this type of talent (4 or 5 D1 players is what I have heard) and height (8 players over 6'5" including 3 around 7' according to the tournament program). I am not going to make any predictions, but hopefully the Royals will be able to make up on the basketball court what they can't on paper.

Somebody needs to start bottling the water down there and bring it up here. Why can't we get a few 7 footers around here?

Makes the teams about even.
