South Oldham jumped ahead 15-5 and never relinquished the lead in winning by 9 over J-town. Lady Dragons, however, never led by more than 13, and Jeffersontown showed a lot of resiliency in bouncing back, pulling to within four on at least one occasion at 35-31.

 

Lead was 6 points when SOHS' Jasmine Whitfield nailed a three from the right corner to give South a 9 point advantage with exactly one minute to play.

 

Jasmine Whitfield led South with 16 points. Jordann McGuffin had 15. Allison Reynolds led the Lady Dragons on the boards with (unofficially) 8, despite seeing limited minutes due to foul trouble.

 

Despite approx. 20 turnovers, South won by doing the little things: South shot 11 of 14 at the line (78%) and dominated the glass.

I watched Franklin dispatch Southern Saturday night. VERY VERY IMPRESSED. How the heck is this team not ranked??????? They have it all - size, speed, depth.

 

The Lady Dragons will have their hands full tonight for sure, but they won't be surprised...they've already played Christian Academy of Louisville, Highlands, and Floyd Central of Indiana...

I agree- Franklin Co was very impressive Saturday and really got up and down the floor. South's guards will need to slow down # 22 if they want to have any success. She was running that team like a finely tuned engine and she had some very nice players to get the ball to that could finish. BIG TEST for the Lady Dragons tonight. Good luck to both teams.
